Offshore drilling equipment is a necessary equipment for drilling oil and gas wells directly in the sea or ocean. A lot of offshore drilling is located in the Gulf of Mexico, near the coast of Australia, New Zealand, as well as Brazil and Venezuela.

Stationary offshore drilling platforms are installed at a depth of up to 600 meters, and have huge steel supports.

Lifting platforms are installed to a depth of up to 120 meters, although there are examples of platforms, the depth of which reaches 170 meters. Semi-submersible offshore drilling rigs are located at a distance of up to 3 kilometers from the bottom.
A drilling ship is a special technique for exploration or scientific drilling of offshore wells.
